[Knitted fabrics]: Knitted fabrics (warp knitting, weft knitting) are mainly composed of yarn loops connected in series in a system longitudinally or transversely. A weft-knitted fabric is formed by stacking transverse loops of the same yarn; a warp-knitted fabric is formed by stacking transverse loops formed by parallel-arranged warp yarns.
The structural unit of knitted fabrics is coils, which form curved three-dimensional space curves. The main geometric parameters are the yarn diameter, the height and length of the loops, and the distance between loops. The structure of actual knitted fabrics is also relatively complex and is usually represented by some kind of geometric model (see knitted fabric loop geometry). Knitted fabrics generally refer to textiles knitted with rib needles or other patterns of needles.
It is characterized by elasticity, good air permeability, and various patterns. Its technology is relatively complex, including manual weaving and special computerized textile machines.
[Woven fabric]: Generally made of yarns or filaments interwoven in the warp and weft directions. Its overall structural characteristics are: a flat plate-like appearance, repeated structures in the warp and weft directions, and a single vertical structure, but it can also be several layers. The warp and weft yarns are interwoven into a mesh, which has both coverage and gaps, and a certain thickness. Woven fabrics refer to textiles woven in ordinary vertical and horizontal weaving methods, and are generally woven using textile machines.
