Method 1: Fold it into a rectangle
Using this method, you will get a thin rectangle that saves space.

Lay the sweater face down
Place the sweater face down on a flat surface.
Remove any creases or wrinkles and smooth it out as much as possible.

Fold in thirds
Grab the two corners at the bottom of the sweater and fold them in thirds toward the collar.
Then, fold again so that the folded sweater is aligned with the collar.

Method 2: Use the KonMari method
This method makes it easy to store folded sweaters in a drawer because they can be next to each other and they are easy to see and take instead of stacking them in a pile.

Lay the sweater flat
The now famous Marie Kondo folding method works the same as all other sweater folding methods - lay the sweater face down on a flat surface like a table or bed and smooth out any wrinkles.

Fold the sleeves inward
Fold the right side of the sweater and the right sleeve towards the center of the sweater.
Do the same with the left side, folding the sides and sleeves inward towards the center.

Fold in thirds
Now, starting at the bottom of the sweater, fold it in thirds (two folds) so that the folded sweater can "stand" on its own.

Method 3: Roll it up like a jelly roll
The rolling method is a great way to prevent wrinkles and store your sweater in a compact, space-saving way.

Lay the sweater flat
Whether it's a chunky knit or a cardigan, lay it on a flat surface and remove any major creases.

Fold up sleeves
Take the right sleeve and fold it to the left, bringing the right cuff to the bottom left corner of the sweater.
Fold the left sleeve the same way – fold it diagonally to the right, bringing the left cuff to the bottom right corner of the sweater.

Roll up evenly
Start at the bottom of the sweater and roll it up evenly like a jelly roll, but not too tight, smoothing out any wrinkles that start to form.

How to store sweaters
Never hang sweaters on hangers. They stretch, lose their shape, and the shoulders get damaged. There are proper ways to use hangers to store sweaters so they don't lose their shape.
Invest in vacuum sealed storage bags, a creative and space-saving way to store winter gear, like sweaters, during the warmer months. Storage bags come in a variety of sizes and can reduce the size of clothing by up to 80%, so you can easily store the bags under your bed or in a storage bench to free up some space in your closet.
Store off-season sweaters in airtight storage bins. Just like vacuum seal bags, they come in all shapes and sizes, and since they are airtight, there is no danger of moisture, dust, or bugs getting in and damaging them.
Use dividers or bins to sort and organize folded and rolled sweaters in drawers or on shelves. Many dividers are expandable to fit multiple drawer sizes, and bins come in all shapes and sizes to hold multiple sweaters. Your drawers will look super tidy, and it will make it easier to maintain the organizational system you have established. Each sweater will be clearly visible and easily accessible, which will make matching outfits simple.
